January Water Reports

January saw water levels rising dramatically Most of our rivers became un fishable. Many lakes suffered from the same problem flooding fields as they went. Pin pointing places to fish became a problem and actually locating fish a similar problem. The Shannon Erne link carried on producing small to medium sized silver fish with double figure bags attainable.

Boat anglers fishing for pike also faired well. The Gowna system produced good fish some in double figures. Those brave enough to tackle the Shannon also did well in the areas of slacker water. Boderg produced pike pushing the magical 20lbs with Lower Kilglass producing smaller samples. The marina at Tarmonbarry from a pike fishing perspective but did not do well but did produce some good roach and hybrids. Watch this space for more up to date reports.
